Restaurant Review Mirchi Peri Peri

Establishment

We recently dropped by Mirchi Peri-Peri in Sugarland. This restaurant is halal inspired with South African roots. Upon entering the establishment, we were greeted by one of the owners of the establishment. The establishment is relatively new with modern décor. The lighting is beautiful and inviting, with a fun feel to it. The tables were appropriately aligned and spaced out. The place was clean and exceedingly neat. Upon entering, you can see the kitchen area past the ordering counter. The kitchen looked clean and organized. The staff behind the counter quickly prepared and assembled orders and were very attentive to their job. The establishment was nicely set up and ran efficiently. We were rapidly given two menus and given our choice of seating. We took our time to look through the menu and then placed our order at the counter.

Menu

The menu did not give an array of entrees, but it was enough. What was plentiful were the sauces. The different sauce combinations gave the menu choices their unique spark. The menu was well presented and easy to follow. The prices were very affordable. The special was $10.99, add-on pieces $2.99, sides $3.99. The lunch special was $8.99 and was available from 11 to 5 PM. The kid's special was $8.99 and included the drink and side.

Food & Service

Our order was rapidly brought to the table. The kitchen personnel that brought the food to the table was courteous. Asked if we needed anything and checked on us frequently. We began the meal with the roasted hummus appetizer. The hummus was smooth and delicious. It had just enough olive oil to bring it to perfection. The naan was soft, fluffy, and cut into small pieces. It accompanied the hummus very well. Overall, the appetizer was aromatic and delicious. We chose the chicken kebab bowl with a spicy sauce and the falafel bowl with a mild sauce as our main entrees. The entrees were well plated and beautifully assembled. The portions were a perfect size. The sauces gave the entrees the added splash of both color and flavor. The food was well cooked and delicious. The rice was perfectly prepared. It was light, long, separate, and very fluffy. The meat was tender, flavorful, and aromatic. The roasted vegetables that were integrated into the kebab were roasted to perfection with a crunchy texture. The falafel was semi-crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. It was not dry and very flavorful. The side veggies were fresh and vibrant. They added extra texture and provided a fantastic color pallet. These simple veggies completed the dish nicely. The combination of flavors was fabulous.

I give Mirchi Peri-Peri two thumbs up for their food, service, and beautiful establishment. It is a place we will most definitely frequent.
