Ingredients: There is something extraordinary about a traditional recipe. It is my mom’s recipe, and it reminds me of family time and loving memories. The ingredients in this recipe are traditionally American. For this recipe, you will need:

¼ cup of oil

6 pieces of chicken, preferably thighs and legs

1 onion

3 potatoes

3 celery sticks

3 carrots

5 tbsp of Tony Chachere’s Creole seasoning

Instructions:

1. With flame on high, add the oil to a pan and allow it to heat up.

2. Place the chicken in the hot oil with the bone side down.

3. Sear it for about 3 minutes on each side or until golden brown.

4. Lower the heat to the lowest setting. Allow the chicken to cook for 20 minutes.

5. After 20 minutes, place all the vegetables on top of the chicken and close the lid. Let the mixture finish cooking for another 10 to 15 minutes or until the vegetables soften.

Topper Tips:

1. Make sure your pan is hot when you are searing your chicken.

2. Cut your vegetables accordingly. The presentation of the dish or visual appeal is just as important as the taste.

3. Cut all your vegetables into large pieces so they do not become mushy.
