How To Make Chinese Ginger Sauce

Chinese cuisine is one of my favorites! The aromatics and intense flavors are divine. I love the vibrant color of the vegetables and different textures. Cooking techniques are part of achieving all of these elements, but most importantly are the sauces. This sauce will help you achieve all the aromatics and flavor in your cooking. This sauce goes well with a stir fry, or add it to a steak to flare up the taste.

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Cook Time: 10 minutes

Total Time: 20 minutes

Makes: 1 1/2 cups

Prepping:

· Prep your vegetables by washing them thoroughly and peeling them.

· Finely mince the garlic, onion, and ginger.

Ingredients: The ingredients for this sauce are simple, but they make up a most incredible sauce that you can use for any cuisine. For this recipe, you will need:

15 grams of ginger

5 grams of garlic

½ onion chopped

½ cup of soy sauce

3 tbsp oyster sauce

2 tbsp Chinese rice wine vinegar or apple cider vinegar

½ cup water

1 tbsp corn starch

Instructions:

1. On medium heat, saute the onion, garlic, and ginger for about 2 minutes.

2. Then, add the rice vinegar or apple cider vinegar. Let the mixture reduce, approximately 1 minute.

3. Add water and let it reduce again. It may take about a minute.

4. Finally, thicken the mixture with the corn starch and let it come to a quick simmer.

Topper Tips:

1. Make sure the oil is heated well when sauteing the onion, garlic, and ginger.

If the oil is not hot, your garlic will become mushy.

2. Saute on medium heat. You don’t want to burn the garlic, onion, or ginger.

3. You can substitute the apple cider vinegar for rice wine vinegar.
