How To Make Tasty Brussels Sprouts

This Brussels sprouts recipe is tasty, easy, and fast to prepare. This recipe only requires a few ingredients. These ingredients are found in every kitchen. For this recipe, I used a large amount of Brussels sprouts. Brussel sprouts are very small or mini cabbages. They are a cute vegetable. They do have a cabbage-like flavor, but it is not as intense as regular cabbage. The smell of the raw vegetable is also not as strong as that of regular cabbage. I like making this recipe because it makes a great accompaniment to any main dish. This can include beef, chicken, or fish.


Before making this dish, I browned bacon in my wok. I allowed it to reach a medium cook and brown-reddish color. I drained the bacon and removed it from the pan. I used the fat from the bacon to sauté my ingredients. To flavor this dish, I used garlic, ginger, onion, and chili flakes. I finely chopped the onion, garlic, and ginger and sautéed it quickly. It did not take more than 1 minute. I did this to give these ingredients a slight cook, allow for the release of the ingredient's natural oils, and for the ingredients to release their wonderful aroma. I used chili flakes to add some heat or spiciness to this dish. This is optional, especially when preparing this dish for kids. Then, I added the bacon. The bacon adds a wonderful earthy flavor to this dish. I added the bacon towards the beginning of the cooking process for this recipe, and it had a slightly crunchy texture, but for a more textured dish, add the bacon at the end of the cooking process. After that, I added the Brussels sprouts and allowed them to cook for about 2-3 minutes with the lid closed on high heat.


The key to flavoring this dish is adding the balsamic vinaigrette. The balsamic vinaigrette adds the tangy and tart flavors that complement the Brussels sprouts well. If you don't have balsamic vinaigrette, you can add a small amount of apple cider vinegar. It works just as well. After adding the balsamic vinaigrette, allow the dish to cook for about another minute. This process will ensure that all the flavors have been incorporated well. Finally, I added cilantro for garnish and added flavor. VOILA!!!
